Volunteering is a way of life for many people in the world. We are happy to say many people who migrate to Sussex County do give freely of their time and efforts to help others.

Need a VOLUNTEER?

CHEER-A-PETS
  • Good tempered, well mannered pets offer affection and companionship
  • Regular visits to home-bound and nursing homes

CHEER-UP CLOWNS
  • Fun-loving individuals spread CHEER at senior centers and festivals
  • Visits to nursing homes
  • Laughter is the best medicine

MEDICAL
TRANSPORTATION 
  • Takes seniors to and from medical appointments
  • Volunteers use their own vehicles
  • No charge to seniors, but donations accepted

HOMEBOUND MEAL DELIVERY
  • Nutritious mid-day meals delivered to homebound seniors
  • Five days a week
  • Donations accepted

PHONE FRIENDS & VISITING FRIENDS
  • Companionship and reassurance
  • Support to those without adequate friends or family
  • Telephone calls and visits made as needed

CHEERMOBILE MINI MARKET
  • Grocery store on wheels
  • 175 staple grocery items
  • Delivers groceries to any homebound senior or disabled Sussex County resident
